Proverbs 3:23

“Then you will walk safely in your way,
And your foot will not stumble.”

As you run, tired as you may be, if Wisdom and discretion are your propellants, your stride will be steady. On days you stumble and fall; when you can’t discern one direction from the other, take a moment to consider what is urging you on your way. What is driving you on your race? What is forming your desires to advance forward? If the answer isn’t unequivocally Wisdom and discretion that has been given from your creator, you may be approaching dangerous territory. Safety may no longer be in your favor. Your feet will find things to stumble over, be it obstacles on the path, or one another. Your feet will fail. Your race will be delayed and heaven forbid, you may not finish.

Prayer is always welcome on the journey. Ask for the discretion that is needed to guide your way so your steps may land safely, one in front of the other. Supplicate for Wisdom and watch as you progress further along without any more forced effort. Your tongue will still stick to the roof of your mouth as you thirst for a drink. Beads of sweat will continue to drip. Your legs will cramp and you may even soil the way with vomit. But you will not fall as long as you keep a firm grip on these gifts from Lady Wisdom. Keep them as fuel for your race!
