Proverb 3:35

“The wise shall inherit glory.
But shame shall be the legacy of fools.”

One receives an inheritance, the other a legacy of shame. In order to receive the incredible inheritance that’s spoken of in our gospels, we must get Wisdom as we’re so instructed in these chapters. Seek her, find her and live a life of determination exercising Wisdom to control the crouching sin that waits to pounce on your weary soul.

But don’t give up! He gives strength to the weary and rises them up on wings like eagles to complete their task. To finish the race and to inherit the riches and glories he’s prepared.

Not the riches and glories of this world or that fools seek after. But holy and righteous jewels which will last through the eternal ages.

Shamed, though, you will be if you cave to the pestering voice of temptation and live foolishly by ignoring the call of God’s plan. For all the darknesses you sought and passed up the chances to expose light, you will hang your head in realization of what that actually means. The parables in scripture are beautiful stories and pictures. But beyond that, they are profoundly deep and powerful. Don’t miss another chance in translating the meaning of these words that you may be careful to do what they say and be saved from an eternal moment of shame.
