Proverb 2:3

“yes, if you call out for insight
and raise your voice for understanding,”

Insight and understanding are deigned to be sought after; pursued.

Much like lending an ear to the people and things we are partial to, it is in our nature to also share our voice with them. This is, after all, where vitality in any healthy relationship derrives: through two-way communication between two individuals. Where one listens and the other speaks. Where the roles reverse and each play their hand at both ends of the conversation.

If you and I want to posess an understanding of this world and our reason for living in it; if we want to gain insight into the curoius things of this life, we must not only lend our ears, but also our voice.

It makes me think if a loved one were to lose themselves, deep in the wilderness. I would ensue an intense search for them; calling out their name and listening to my voice bounce back off cold, massive stone walls. I would call out time and time again, in hopes to hear, not my voice, but the voice of my loved one call out in a timid and hopeful response.

This verse makes me wonder if our incessant echoing shouts for INSIGHT……..Insight….insight and UNDERSTANDING…Understanding…understanding will pay off and that one day my search would result with a resounding, “Over here! Here we are! Keep heading this way!” far off in the distance, encouraging my trek in their direction.
