Proverb 1:14
“Cast in your lot among us
Let us all have one purse”
Not only are sin’s promises empty, they require an investment that leaves you broke and indebted to an impostor.
Sin leads us to believe we can partake of the benefits, forsake the consequence and wash our hands of our involvement when we are done tinkering with the act.
But, like debt, it hovers over you until payment is received in full. It infiltrates every area of your life, affects your decisions and traps you.
Sin wants to share a purse with you so you have an obligation to it. When you cast your lot into the sinner’s purse, you are building the financial portfolio of a swindler at the expense of your own.
Regarding our financial investments, we say things like, “don’t put all of your eggs in one basket.” Spiritually speaking, don’t hand your eggs over to a thief.
