Proverb 10:7
“The memory of the righteous is blessed,
But the name of the wicked will rot.“
The memory of the righteous is blessed—present tense. Memory here, serves as like a Polaroid in the eternal spheres. It’s an immediate commemorative, of a righteous life. A memento associated with memories worth savoring. A compilation of joyous records and recollections which narrate a brave sojourner’s adventures ByTheWay.
As we face this day, we are either capturing those moments, or not. Moment by moment, we are faced with opportunities to build a righteous memory, or else squander it with wickedness. My actions this moment are already memories where time does not define space. Am I creating something worth capturing in this moment? Or have I erased this moment from eternity with a mere decision?
The name of the wicked will rot—future tense. Their chance at leaving a mark or memorial of their individuality will disappear. They will become inconspicuous and lose their shot at securing a defining position in the afterworld. But it’s as though, there is still time for them to make a mark for their name—for it hasn’t yet rotted. If they choose wickedness and turn a blind eye to righteousness, they will ultimately, be forgotten in the eternal realm. Their memory will be missing from the memory book of years long past, filled with stories and adventures of courages souls who ventured off the beaten path in the Earth Age to secure a name for themselves in the Eternal.
